The Building Design Management process connects technical design expertise with practical problem solving in construction delivery.

From an initial design concept, to design brief formulation, project documentation, quality control and project handover are synthesised to create an effective building supply chain.

Students are encouraged to develop an understanding of ‘buildability’ issues, accurate cost forecasting, risk management and sustainable project delivery. The ‘soft’ skills needed to work in a multi-disciplinary project team are emphasised. In their final year, students work on a self-sourced design solution in an area of special interest to themselves.
