My work focuses on community engagement and intervention at its core. In hopes of producing spaces or objects that physically engage people with the process of place making. I believe the greatest architecture is that which is expressive with its context, allowing all constituents to flourish and participate in its lifecycle.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

As Western Sydney hyper-densifies with the triple metropolis scheme for the Sydney estuary, spatial freedom is restricted by the extent of its economic possibilities. Unfortunately, space is diminishing in these culturally rich and human scaled communities in favour of the churning capitalist machine. However, with the cinema experiencing reducing into a subscription service consumed within the comforts of a bed through the convenience of the mobile phone ( or neuralink ), HOYTS 8 presents the shell for the re-editing of its spatial narrative. Facing Paul Keating park in the Bankstown Civic Centre, it has the potential to offer, produce and manifest the spatial imaginations of the diverse Bankstown and Greater Western Sydney constituents.
